Due to the necessity of maintaining bubbles within Peak Time in line with government guidance we are currently not running Forest School sessions after school.
What is Forest School?
Having fun, exploring and enjoying the great outdoors with their peer group whatever the weather, Forest School provides a regular opportunity for children to learn about and experience the natural environment, work as a team, co-operate with others, use their own initiative, and develop skills in how to assess and handle risks for themselves.
Activities include:
Practical woodcraft skills and tool use.
Lighting and cooking on our campfire.
Exploring and finding out more about nature.
Games, challenges, den building and much much more!
Tom is a qualified and experienced Forest School Leader, successfully running Peak Time groups since September 2017.
Forest School takes place after school, usually starting in the first week of the new September Term, and running right through to the Summer. We are based in the small wooded area next to the Hathersage school field. We have a shelter to act as cover from wet/cold weather. Appropriate clothing and hot drinks ensure everybody stays happy and warm.
In the event of very windy conditions or extreme cold we use a classroom in the top school building and continue our activities indoors.
