Deputy Coordinator

Could you be our enthusiastic deputy coordinator who will support running this popular service for 4 to 12 year olds. Working with the coordinator and alongside several playworkers, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping with the smooth running of the childcare setting.  You must have experience of working in a childcare environment. A sense of fun and commitment to making the after school club an enjoyable place for the children is central to the role along with a working knowledge. A level-3 qualification in childcare or equivalent is desirable for the role.

The working pattern has an element of flexibility but the current post holder works every morning and afternoon, 22-29 hours per week  across breakfast club sessions (7.30-8.45am), after school sessions (3pm-6.15pm) and non-contact hours (5-7 hours pw). Holiday week sessions average 27.5 hpw, these are usually for 5.5 hours per day (but may be more if wanted) between 7.55am and 6.15pm. The pay rate is £10.77 per hour.

Due to this post having access to children the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Play worker

We are looking for an energetic and proactive playworker who will look after the children in this popular service for 4 to 12 year olds. Working in a team, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day care of young children the Hope Valley Area.  You should have a sense of fun and commitment to making the after school club an enjoyable place for the children is central to the role along with a working knowledge. We ask for some experience of working in a childcare environment and if possible First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates.

The working pattern has an element of flexibility but the current post holder works 13 hours per week at after school sessions (Mon-Thursday 3pm – 6:15pm). The pay rate is £9.38 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience (qualified £9.38 – non qualified £8.72)

Due to this post having access to children the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Due to the current circumstances there are a few procedures we have put in place to ensure Peak Time users and parents are as safe as possible.  These are as follows:

  • Children are to be in bubbles of no more than 15 and in line with school bubbles

o  BUBBLE 1 – KS1

o  BUBBLE 2 – KS2 (Year 3 & Year 4)

o  BUBBLE 3 – KS2 (Year 5 & Year 6)

o  BUBBLE 4 – BAMFORD

  • Hand washing will be frequent
  • Children are encouraged, when sneezing or coughing, to do so into their elbow or a tissue
  • If a child is displaying symptoms of COVID 19 they will be kept separately to the other children and their parents/carers will be called and asked to pick them up as soon as possible
  • If a child is deemed to be showing inappropriate behaviour (eg. spitting) their parent/carers will be called and asked to pick them up

Breakfast Club

On arrival at the school site we ask that you follow the one way system shown by the blue arrows on the pathways

Parents/carers are to sanitise their hands, ring the bell outside the Peak Time building, and wait for a member of staff to greet them

Parent/carer are not allowed into the building

A member of staff will bring your child inside, settle them in and help them with breakfast

If a family is waiting to be signed in please keep your distance and form a queue

Parents/carers are to leave down the Peak Time ramp on to the playground and exit via the field gate

We ask that the THE LATEST YOU DROP CHILDREN OFF AT PEAK TIME IS 8.20AM as the school site needs to be clear of families before school drop off begins.  We also stop serving breakfast at 8.20am as this facilitates the necessary time required to clean the setting before Playgroup commences.

After school club

KS1 children will be picked up from outside their classroom

KS2 children will make their way to the building

On arrival children will be placed into their bubbles

Activities, snack/tea and other games will be provided as normal

On collection we ask that parents/carers sanitise their hands, ring the bell outside the Peak Time building, and wait for a member of staff to greet them

Parent/carer are not allowed into the building

Children will be collected by a member of staff with the coats, bags, bottles, etc and shown outside to their parent/carer

If another parent/carer is waiting for their child please keep your distance and form a queue

Parent/carer and child are to leave down the Peak Time ramp on to the playground and exit via the field gate

We ask that THE EARLIEST YOU PICK CHILDREN UP IS 3:45PM as the school site needs to be clear of families before Peak Time pick up can begin safely

We are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of the families that use Peak Time.  Bamford children will be at Peak Time sessions from the 14th September 2020, if it is deemed safe.  Thank you for your understanding in these difficult times.

Peak Time Kids Club is a registered charity situated in the grounds of St Michael’s C of E School in Hathersage.  It offers high quality child care for primary school children in a safe, stimulating and caring environment and is staffed by a qualified and dedicated team.

Peak Time provides childcare before and after school during the school term.  We also provide childcare throughout the school holidays to children from all around the Hope Valley and beyond.

Transport – £3.50 per child

Late Pick up (ie after 6pm) – £9.40 per family up to 6.30pm.  £6.60 per 15 minutes after 6.30pm

Pre-booked late pick up: Mon to Thurs only (collect by 6.30pm) – £6.60 per family
